Dr. Debra Gustafson
Wholeness relating to the growth and maturity of human beings involves an abiding sense of wellbeing, healing and peace. I have been on the journey of wholeness for decades in community and in quiet solitude. I am continually learning from God how to join Him in inviting others into the wholeness and soul maturity He provides as we listen and cooperate with His wisdom, grace and truth. Together we freely dialogue areas of need, guidance, and/or spiritual direction. We gently learn to listen to God for His help. It does not matter whether people find themselves feeling weak or strong, sorrowful or joyful, frightened or confident, grieving or calm, angry or peaceful, spiritually hungry of spiritually full . . . I value serving them as a “soul care companion.” In my experience on several continents and in numerous US states, I have journeyed with people who grew deeper wholeness in their souls, attitudes, actions and relationships.
With sensitivity and God’s help I have listened and talked with persons who knew in advance they were physically dying. When persons desire prayer, I have prayed with them, even as they neared the threshold of physical death. Two of the persons I was privileged to prayerfully be with in their transfer to Jesus were my parents. I do not tire of seeing God’s love and mercy for us even as we or our loved ones approach the threshold of physical death.
